Check the Apple Menu
The Apple menu is the quickest way to find out what year your MacBook Pro is from. Turn your MacBook Pro on, click the Apple icon in the top left corner, and select “About This Mac”. Search the Serial Number
In rare cases, the year your MacBook Pro is from doesn’t appear on the About This Mac page. In that case, you must use the serial number to search for the year. You can find the serial number on the About This Mac page.
Once you have the serial number, you can figure out what year your MacBook Pro is from if you visit the Apple Check Coverage Page. Enter your serial number on the page and press, type the security check characters, and press “Submit”. The year and model of your MacBook Pro should appear on the page.
Inspect Your MacBook Pro
